Mercyhurst Preparatory School

Mercyhurst Preparatory School, commonly called Mercyhurst Prep or MPS, is a Catholic, coeducational secondary school located in Erie, Pennsylvania. In the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie, the school is located behind Mercyhurst University on East Grandview Boulevard. It is a member of the International Baccalaureate program.

Sitting atop the hill on a sprawling 7.25 acre campus, Erie’s only co-educational Catholic high school and Northwest Pennsylvania’s only secondary school that offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, Mercyhurst Preparatory School offers a destination for students from across the region and around the world that is unmatched in Erie.

The unparalleled preparation for life begins for some in 8th grade as McAuley Scholars. Students throughout their high school career have the opportunity to expand their worldview and grow into compassionate leaders excelling at the nation’s top universities. For some students that begins with the opportunity to complete their senior year at Mercyhurst Preparatory School and their freshman year at Mercyhurst University simultaneously.

Mercyhurst Seminary/Preparatory School was founded by the Sister of Mercy in 1926. Some colleges our graduates attend include:
Notre Dame, Cornell University, University of Chicago, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Vassar, College of William & Mary, Georgetown, Case Western, Harvard, U.S. Naval Academy, University of Michigan, Boston College, Rochester Institute of Technology and Villanova University.
